Continuing our series of partner spotlight blogs heading into PLAY, this week we are featuring SpotX, a trusted video advertising platform for premium publishers. They provide a holistic inventory management platform that provides insight and control by aggregating all demand sources, across sales channels and devices, in a unified ad decisioning environment, streamlining workflow, enhancing delivery and return the maximum revenue for every impression.
This is the second time that SpotX is sponsoring PLAY, so here’s a sneak preview of what they will be showcasing. For insight, I spoke with Kristen Williams, SpotX’s Director of Strategic Partnerships. She has been at SpotX for just under two years and works closely with Brightcove’s partnerships team.
How does SpotX help video publishers and marketers?
SpotX is a video inventory management platform for premium publishers and broadcasters that helps them manage all their demand sources from one place and monetize content across all screens. For marketers, SpotX provides programmatic video advertising inventory buying solutions through our global marketplace which includes private marketplaces, curated marketplaces, and direct deals with publishers. SpotX delivers the industry’s leading independent video advertising solutions.
Why did you decided to sponsor PLAY this year?
SpotX sponsored PLAY for the first time in 2015. Our founder and CEO, Mike Shehan participated in a breakout session panel focused on the use of programmatic. The session initiated conversation on how premium publishers can gain value from leveraging programmatic. The event provided plenty of networking opportunities and allowed us to build on our partnership with Brightcove.
What is PLAY like? Describe it in three words.
- Innovative
- Productive
- Informative
What can people expect when they visit your booth?
Attendees will be able to meet with myself, Jeremy Straight and Ben Abbatiello at our booth to discuss challenges around programmatic enablement, modern ad server capabilities, private marketplaces and other complexities of the digital video ecosystem. We can show visitors to our booth some of our new solutions which include In-Content Ad Units (out-stream units that insert video ads into web pages), our Apple tvOS SDK, which lets publisher program how ads appear on Apple TV, and our mobile SDKs that enable video ads in iOS and Android apps.
Any fun recommendations for what people could do while in Boston?
If you're looking for things to do in Boston, be sure to stop by Copley Square in Boston's Back Bay, named after painter John Singleton Copley. The square is one of Boston's hotspots with historic sights and good spots to grab lunch. If you're looking for some of the best Italian food in Boston, the North End is a must. Mike's Pastry is famous for their cannolis and traditional Italian cakes. Other places to see: Quincy Market for clam chowder, the gold capped Government Service Center (from the movie, The Departed), and Newbury Street for Boston's best shopping.
Join Kristen and other technology partners at Brightcove PLAY on May 16th, 2016 in Boston. The event is free for existing Brightcove customers. If you would like to participate, request an invite by emailing us at play@brightcove.com.
