5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Brightcove PLAY Experience

Brightcove PLAY is a little over a week away, and we're getting really excited to see our customers and partners here in Boston. We know that stepping away from the office for anything other than vacation can be a tough call, so we want to help you make the most of the conference with a few helpful tips and tricks.

Connect with peers.
We're bringing together some of the best minds in the industry, with opportunities to access the people thinking about online video and content every day. If you are the resident "video expert" in your company, take this time to commune with your like-minded peers! Don't pass up an opportunity to introduce yourself to the person next to you while you are getting coffee or waiting for the keynote to begin. Talk about your projects, your specific challenges, your successes -- and you'll get the same insights from your neighbors and learn something in the process.

Take notes.
Conferences can sometimes feel a little overwhelming with the whirlwind of information and big ideas, so it helps to have a real-time processing strategy to that builds in time for reflection along the way. At the end of a sessions, take a moment before you get up to move to the next room to reflect on what you learned. Think about how the ideas directly influence a next action you might take, whether it generates a sketch for a new layout for your video player placement, or gets you thinking about content strategy: think in concrete actions, and make note of them for your trip home. You might even want to share those takeaways on Twitter with the hashtag #BrightcovePLAY.

Ask the experts.
Brightcove staff will be on hand throughout the event. From Community and Customer Support, to sales engineers and executive staff - we'll be there to answer your questions. You might even write out the questions you want answered on the trip up to Boston. Look for any staff badge, or find us throughout the conference at the Bright Ideas booth located in the Atrium of plaza level 3.

Follow up.
Don't wait until the week after to follow up with people you met; look at the notes you took on the back of a business card and send that person a quick email or connect with them on LinkedIn while your conversation and shared interests are fresh in your memory.

Have fun!
We're providing you with plenty of opportunities to have a little fun while you are in town. Maybe fly in a day early and walk the Freedom Trail, or check out the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) close by on the waterfront. And don't miss the harbor cruise on Tuesday night for a little socializing on the water.

Conferences can offer up some of the most stimulating and energizing moments to energize you in your day-to-day job, so come with an open mind to learn and share, and you'll be ready to get the most out of this event! Follow @BrightcovePLAY for up to date information throughout the conference.
