Zencoder, a growing startup funded by Y Combinator and top angel investors, is looking for a sales professional to drive growth of our video encoding service to web and enterprise customers. This person will lead sales efforts, help develop our sales strategy, funnel customer feedback to the development team, and grow overall revenue.

Zencoder provides a variety of video encoding services in the cloud. We manage the complexities of video encoding for hundreds of websites and other applications. As the performance leader in this emerging space, Zencoder provides excellent quality, fast encoding and a compelling value proposition.
Zencoder has growing revenue, happy customers and good buzz via marketing and word of mouth. Customers from startups to large scale branded websites love the product and how it simplifies a significant problem they face every day. This is a growing market with significant untapped opportunity.
What we're looking for
The successful candidate will take Zencoder's sales to the next level. Zencoder is a startup, so sales will be an iterative process of learning and discovery. We are looking for a sales leader to help build our sales model, and ultimately contribute to the culture and success of the business.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of inside sales and field sales experience. He/she has been comfortable calling and selling IT software and services to companies for 3-5 years. The right candidate will be tenacious, entrepreneurial, passionate, and have excellent communication skills.
Zencoder's products are technical, so we are looking for an individual with 2+ years experience selling software and services in cloud computing, web technologies, video, hosting, or related industries. Actual experience in the video space is a plus. Many of our customers are programmers, so some programming background also a plus, though not required.
Zencoder will offer a competitive compensation package, a fun work environment and a chance to be part of something much bigger. We prefer candidates in San Francisco, Minneapolis, Madison, or Los Angeles, but we will consider candidates in other locations if willing to travel.
