Finland's SuomiTV Launches in Record Time with Brightcove and Soprano Brain Alliance

We are very excited to report that together with leading Finnish software house Soprano Brain Alliance, Brightcove has helped to deliver an innovative online TV service for SuomiTV, a Finnish national TV channel. The service concept and design for SuomiTV were provided by top Finnish interactive design consultancy Nordkapp. The online service was developed, implemented and launched in record time, and enables SuomiTV to offer a high quality online video experience for all of its programming.

SuomiTV is a new national and commercial TV channel in Finland that began broadcasting in December 2009. SuomiTV is focused on delivering a variety of family-oriented programming to viewers throughout Finland. The channel's programming includes series, nature programs, documentaries, lifestyle programs, children's shows, films and news.

Commenting on the news, Jarmo Kalliola, CEO of SuomiTV said:

"This project is a testimony of the all-around commitment and the agility between us and our partners. As a result, we can now offer high quality online TV to our audience. This is how things get done."

SuomiTV's online manager, Mikael Alatalo, also noted:

"A couple of months ago I could not even have dreamt about launching online services for a national TV channel with a schedule like this. None of this would have been possible without the outstanding work and full-on commitment by Soprano Brain Alliance and Brightcove, and of course without the excellent concept design by our partner, Nordkapp."

This is a very exciting development from Brightcove and our partners in Finland, and we look forward to continued customer momentum throughout the Nordics region in the months ahead.
