SKY.it Rolls out Brightcove for Online Video Initiatives

We are pleased to announce that SKY.it has selected the Brightcove platform for online video content management and publishing ad-supported, customized video players. SKY.it is Italy's most popular pay-TV company with nearly five million subscribers and is wholly owned by News Corporation.

With Brightcove, SKY.it can extend the distribution of its sports, news and lifestyle video programming to the Web to reach a larger audience and expand monetization opportunities. The Brightcove platform enables SKY.it to create high quality, customized viewing experiences, particularly for its Serie A football league highlights that are showcased via weekly online video features. SKY.it is also able to increase viewer engagement through Brightcove's third-party distribution, advanced sharing and analytics capabilities.

We are excited to see the adoption of the Brightcove platform continue to spread across leading Italian media organizations. In addition to SKY.it, we are also working with MTV Mobile and Il Sole 24, as well as partners Idini Consulting Group and Slamcore.

The deal with SKY.it also expands the adoption of the Brightcove platform across News Corporation Web properties, which already includes Sky Deutschland, Times Newspapers, BSkyB, and the television networks and studio properties of Fox Entertainment Group.
