Earlier today, the organizers behind the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference in Austin announced a batch of about 40 sessions for the SXSW 2010 Music Conference, including a panel session on the future of online music videos that will be moderated by our very own Nick Stahl. We are extremely excited to be a part of the SXSW event, as it is one of the top events in the world for uniting the music, film and technology industries.
Nick, who is Brightcove's director of strategic accounts, will moderate a panel on Friday, March 19th, that highlights the importance of music videos as a critical extension of a record label's brand online. Until recently, labels have found it difficult to mitigate online video piracy without alienating the user communities built around music. Now, labels are embracing sophisticated online video technology like Brightcove's to do just that, while also introducing new revenue opportunities.
Nick will be joined on the panel by executives from several major record labels and online music outlets. Since we have a long ways to go until March, let us know if you have any suggestions or questions for Nick and the other panelists to address during what should prove to be an exciting, informative session.
And a special thank you to everyone who voted for Nick's panel during the Panel Picker process this Fall. We appreciate everyone's help!
