A SDK is a great way to get to grips with a new API. Especially if you're an expert in one particular development language and don't have time to learn another.
For example I've been a .NET developer for most of my career so when Brightcove introduced the JSON/REST based Media API I had to spend some time getting to grips with the new architecture.
Not a challenge at all if you don't have very pressing project deadlines and just need to get on with the job.
Enter in the open source community and 3 great new SDK projects out there that are wrapping up the BC Media API into very easy to use packages. And I have no doubt more are on their way!
So have a look:
Kudos-JS : a Javascript SDK : this one has a cool sandbox area you can play around in
Echove : a PHP based SDK : very active release cycle, already 4 release in the last 2 weeks!
Tanaris : a .NET SDK : bringing Brightcove into the Microsoft Application Development world - very cool!
All of these programs are a real show of strength for our evolving community. I've even heard rumblings of a Ruby on Rails SDK!
Bring it on....
