Well it was another big weekend for online video content creation with the 2009 Academy Awards. We work with a large group of media companies focused on the entertainment industry, here are a few of the unique strategies in producing and presenting this footage:
Dedicated splash pages, video embedded in articles, and interactive features w/ video seem to be most popular. As these large events and even smaller niche events like the the Mountain Dew Snowboarding Tour or NATPE 2009 continue to grow their online presences and incorporate interactive features surrounding their video content I think we will continue to see them provide extended value to their sponsors beyond the initial event. Consider the Oscars and the additional viewing time and discussion that the content will enjoy online on top of an event that was only 2 hours long!
